CUSP: Carbon Utilization and Storage Partnership of the Western United States
Project Overview
The Carbon Utilization and Storage Partnership (CUSP) of the Western United States is a US Department of Energy-funded Regional Initiative established to accelerate onshore CO2 capture and storage (CCS) technology deployment in the western region of the US. The project involves around twenty universities, national labs, research institutions, and small businesses from across and beyond the CUSP region. CUSP is accelerating CCS deployment through four key activities:
- Addressing key technical challenges
- Facilitating data collection, sharing and analysis
- Evaluating regional infrastructure
- Promoting regional technology transfer
Carbon Solutions is leading SimCCS research and applications for the CUSP project; our SimCCS software is a key tool for CUSP work.
