Chris Upchurch
Research Scientist
Chris Upchurch is a research scientist with a background in transportation geography, network analysis, and geographic information science. He’s done research on locating hydrogen refueling stations, planning light rail systems, urban mobility, and using big data to analyze transportation system performance.
Chris has a BS and MA from Arizona State University, both in Geography, as well as a PhD in Geography from the University of Utah. He’s worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina and as a transportation planner in Wichita and Kansas City.
